Into music

The kids are so into music. They love singing and dancing along when the music plays. It would be great if I know how to play musical instruments like my siblings, so I can influence the kids to also love playing music. My dad has been bugging me to let my eldest daughter take piano lessons. He loves playing the keyboards at home as his pastime and would like to see his grandkids also do the same. But oh well, maybe when the little girl is a little older. Probably when she’s 5 or 6, we can let her attend some lessons and see if she’s interested. Who knows, we’d be seeing her play the Nord Keyboards in the future.

Tropical vacation

We’re so looking forward to our vacation in the tropics next month. Our short stay will be filled with lots of beach trips; feasting on seafood and grilled meats laid on rustic tables while enjoying the calming view of the sea, relaxing on lounge chairs. I know the kids will have a blast playing in the sand, building sandcastles and chasing crabs.

It will be summer in Europe when we come back after the vacation, so there will be plenty of time spent outdoors again. I remember last summer when the kids were always out in the playground, spending long hours there as the daylight also lasts long. During weekends, we’d go on road trips to enjoy nature and everybody had fun! Bring on the sunny days! We’ve had enough of gloomy, cold and rainy days.

Football again

It’s football season again for hubby. But with his busy schedule, he already missed two games. I know he’s dying to play his favorite sport again and he really needs some activity for his body after a long winter break. Well, oh well. I am not so happy with this football session though coz it means him being out from home for an additional 3-4 hours. He’s a busy man so he has little quality time left for the family.

Anyway, I should be checking on his stuff and get them ready for this week. He seem to have a relaxed schedule. They play in different football venues each time, so they don’t have specific gym lockers where they can keep their things. It should be here at home, and a good wife should help her husband with his needs. Heh!

Play Kitchen for Kids

My four-year old daughter has been asking for a wooden play kitchen which she saw from YouTube. I checked which stores sell it and found Ikea. For a small piece of wood, it costs a lot!

I thought about my dad who loves doing carpentry works and how easy it would be for him to make one for his grand daughter. Dad couldn’t say no to his daughter and grand daughter I guess coz he started working on the play kitchen, complete with oven and sink!

My sister told me that they had different opinions as to the type of material to be used. She told him that chipboard boxes would be convenient, as this can easily be cut to desired form, also it’s much easier to work with, but my dad would not have any of these. He uses real plywood, and I wish you can see it, it looks real! I’m sure my little girl will appreciate, and be happy with, it. Much thanks, Dad!
