When SALE happens!

Now that Christmas is over, the stores are busy clearing all their Christmas goods and selling them on super low prices. I like it! We went out yesterday (and today) to check out the sale happening in most malls and small shops, and we scored lots of discounted items! If pre-Christmas shopping was filled with pressure, yesterday and today’s shopping adventure was more laid back. There was no list to follow, no people in mind to buy for, I simply let the price dictate me. If its super low and worth-buying, then I obey! I’m even thinking of buying Christmas decors for next year, but hubby is frowning on the idea. Hahaha All the stores want these things to disappear, to make way for another special occasion that’s gonna bring them in money – Valentine’s Day! In the next weeks, I expect to see lots of red roses, stuffed teddies with hearts, jewelries, red accessories, dresses, etc. in the stores. But before that happens, I want to shop some more and avail of the SALE!

Choosing a gift

I was out yesterday to go shopping with a friend. She wanted me to choose what gift/s I wanted. It was fun, I really had a nice day. Then I thought I might as well take the time to also buy something for my husband. Though I know what are his interests, it was still tough coming up with a gift item for him. He’s fond of World War stories, but which book should I get him? Hohum! If he’s into home improvement and home projects like my dad, I would buy him cutting tools, but he’s not! I actually have to get him at least two gifts coz its his birthday in a few days and then there’s Christmas. I want to surprise him, so I am searching high and low, scouring the net for ideas and hopefully, before the occasions arrive, I’d be ready with gifts to hand him.

I was scouring the internet for online jobs just to get an idea what jobs are available. I saw few listings for Datawarehouse Designer Jobs, several for Information Technology, and a lot in the field of Merchandising, Purchasing and Retail. This gives future job seekers a glimpse of what they can expect in the work field once they start looking for work.

Finding a job that’s ideal in terms of fulfillment and compensation can sometimes be difficult, but if one isn’t that picky, and is adaptable, there will always be a suitable job out there. Finding it might take sometime, but with patience and will, it can be achieved.

Accidents are inevitable. They happen when you least expect them. We can only pray everyday to be protected from harm. We can be careful but others around us can be irresponsible. There are drivers getting behind the wheel even if they’re drunk, there are constructions that don’t follow safety rules, and sometimes… no matter how safe we think we are, it just happens.

It would be a little relieving if it happens and help is nearby, but what if you’re in a remote place, with difficult access by vehicles or ambulance? A need for air ambulance service is a must, and this sometimes aren’t easily available. And it probably costs a lot. Some are signing up for medical assistance just in case accidents happen, so they can get the immediate help they need, lessening worries. It’s a practical thing to do. There are companies that even lets you pay a minimal membership fee for the whole family.

Have you tried lending a friend or someone you know some money? Most likely, at least one of them haven’t paid you yet. When these friends came to us, asking for help coz they need it for emergency reasons, we pity them and gave into giving them money with the hope that they will pay once they have money. But, only a few would really stand by their words and do what they’re supposed to do. So imagine those big companies, big businesses who have debtors owing them large amounts of money; they should get their money back or they’d suffer big losses. But its not that easy to collect debts. Many would try to get away or hide so they wouldn’t be able to pay their debts. That’s why companies hire collection agencies to provide them services for debt collecting using techniques and resources in order for the debtors to pay. I don’t know what’s the success rate for this, but I do hope it really helps them.

Change of routine

By now, you should be feeling the temperature changes brought by autumn. Bye-bye warm days, say hello to chilly and foggy mornings. Does this mean a change in your routine? Do you still go biking, running or swimming in the cold? With enough warm clothing, you still should be able to do these activities, but with swimming? Well, you can go to indoor pools for that. If you have your own pool, the better. Just be sure you have one of those efficient pool heat pumps to heat your swimming pool. Its necessary to still exercise during cold season and sweat it out.

As for me and the kids, we seldom go out to the playground anymore. But I still take them out for a walk sometimes. When the ground isn’t wet from rain, I let them play in the sand area, but not too long. We just stay inside most of the time. I make sure they use their energy even when we’re at home though. Good thing I have kids who love to move, and move at the expense of our living room cushions upturned and scattered. At least they’re having fun still.

Car shopping

Hubby has been browsing online for cars for several weeks already. I told him to act on it, choose which car he wants and reserve it. The weather’s getting to be nasty and I want us to be riding a safe vehicle when we’re on a trip. We’d have some awful experience with our current car, and I don’t want to experience another one again. But hubby seems to dillydally and can’t make up his mind. He has already spent lots of time browsing, researching. Sometimes I’d find him looking at can am commander accessories which makes me roll my eyes and sigh “Guys!” We need a car, not an ATV!

Anyway, I am happy coz today he finally called the car dealer and reserved the car he picked. Tomorrow he will go there to settle the payment, sign papers, etc. Weeee! I am relieved that after a long wait, we’ll be getting our car soon!
