Times are changing as can be seen even in ladies’ and men’s wear. Now, people are more free and innovative, or creative, as to fashion, unlike before when certain norms of society had to be followed. I heard my mom say before, that my grandpa would never allow anyone to go out of the house in slippers. These should be used only within the confines of home; wear shoes, step-in or sandals when you go out. But look at the feet of ladies now, almost anyone and almost anywhere, slippers are used!

This is also true for mens ties. Before, ties were only worn as signs of high society people. Diplomats, government officials and big-time businessmen, or anyone associated with opulence were the only ones who would wear ties. Now, even ordinary people with ordinary jobs share the liberty of wearing ties, and it’s all right.
