Do you know that there is such thing as hard water?

Water is considered hard when it has plenty of calcium or magnesium in it. If you notice that your things such as water heaters, tea kettles or pots, etc. have that white scale, it only shows that it is caused by hard water. The calcium or magnesium is said to precipitate out of the water and stick to things. This can cause a big problems to pipes coz the scale makes conducting less effective and also reduces the flow of heat through the pipe as well.

That’s why there are water softeners products to treat this problem. A water softener is more preferable because it is costs less compared to another process to treat hard water which is filtration.

According to How Stuff Works, treatment through a water softener is easy. “The calcium and magnesium ions in the water are replaced with sodium ions. Since sodium does not precĀipitate out in pipes or react badly with soap, both of the problems of hard water are eliminated.”

Check out your kettles or pots. If you see the scale, it’s time to treat your water!
