I hope it rains! That’s all I could think of after reading the latest news of the California wildfire that’s eating up north of Los Angeles that has already destroyed several homes, killed two firemen and threatening more than 12,000 homes. It has prompted Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to declare a state of emergency in four California counties.

Another fire news I read earlier was about the fire that quickly ignited and destroyed a mobile home. Fortunately there were no human casualties. The cause is still unknown but according to the U.S. Fire Administration, fires in manufactured homes claim the lives of more than 300 Americans every year and injure 700 more. Most of these mobile home fires are caused by heating and electrical system malfunctions and improper storage of combustibles.

I still haven’t heard any update from my sister who’s apartment caught fire the other weekend.  But it was a relief to know that the fire was controlled immediately and didn’t do further damage to their things except for the kitchen (where the fire started coz of leaking pipe).  Maybe they’re busy settling down in their new place after the apartment manager relocated them.
