The first birthday of a child is usually a big occasion for most parents. In fact, the baby isn’t even aware what the event is. He or she is oblivious to what’s going on, but for parents, it’s a special day that should be celebrated with family and friends. If you can afford it, then why not give your child a grand party?

But I know some people who, even if they don’t have enough money would go to great lengths such as borrowing money just to throw their child a party so they can buy first birthday party supplies – from invitations to decorations, souvenirs to food, everything that would make the occasion memorable.

For our child’s first birthday, we celebrated it in a simple way. We invited only a few close guests and prepared the foods ourselves. When our little girl is big enough to enjoy games and parties that would be the time we’ll give her a grand birthday party – a memory she would cherish forever.
