“Whoa, tie a yellow ribbon round the old oak tree
It’s been three long years
Do ya still want me?
If I don’t see a ribbon round the old oak tree
I’ll stay on the bus
Forget about us
Put the blame on me
If I don’t see a yellow ribbon round the old oak tree.”

Is that song familiar to you? I used to hear it a lot when I was a kid on Sundays when our local radio station would play music from the yesteryears. Reading the lyrics now, I wonder if the man was able to find a yellow ribbon tied on the oak tree when he came home. It would be a big disappointment if he didn’t. If I were his loved one, I’d tie yellow ribbons on all Oak trees leading to our house to let him know that he’s more than welcome.
