A lot of girls and women love the color pink. Yoohooo! give me a shout out if you’re one of those unusual guys who love PINK. Anyway, if before you usually associate thinking pink with the new pair of stilletos or handbag or a sweater, this time when you think pink, think breast cancer. Yikes!

Well, this month marks the Breast Cancer awareness month. This disease if not detected early can be fatal. You might have known friends, relatives or even closest family members being victimized by the big C. Ain’t good, right? In our own way by spreading awareness, it can help a lot.

Aside from a mammogram test which determines earliest signs of cancer even before one can feel it, here are other signs which you can check:

Any new, hard lump or thickening in any part of the breast
Change in breast size or shape
Dimpling or puckering of the skin
Swelling, redness or warmth that does not go away
Pain in one spot that does not vary with your monthly cycle
Pulling in of the nipple
Nipple discharge that starts suddenly and appears only in one breast
An itchy, sore or scaling area on one nipple

More info can be foundĀ from the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month website.
