Not really… Being continents away from home, the feeling of homesickness could be knocking on the door anytime but thankfully I still am updated with the changes happening in my hometown. And why not? I chat almost daily with my family (thanks to Yahoo! Messenger, e-mail and the other wonders of the World Wide Web). Anyway, our conversations would be about my life here, the weather, the current fashion, how my day went, the food I’m cooking (and eating) and whatever topics our chats would lead us.
My family back home would also update me about the latest events in our hometown – the town fiesta just ended but the streets are still filled with vendors selling food, clothing, shoes, house ware, toys, etc.; the malls and department stores are now filled with Christmas trees and décors (yup the Christmas season starts in September there), ongoing road repairs (as always), two antenna towers are now standing in a lot by the roadside where it used to be only one (that means the petition of the nearby landowners to stop the installation of the new tower was not successful), and just today they described to me the weather which is rainy and windy due to tropical storm Nina.
